Regardless of what your opinion is about the GTD (Getting Things Done) hype, it is likely that anyone without inhumane memory capacity needs a way to jot down lists of things to do and things that need remembering.
Juggling between work, having a house built, maintaining a sailboat, online activities and other hobbies, I have found a personal GTD adaptation irreplaceable. For quite some time I have been using Journler as a notetaking & todo management application, and while it excels in flexibility, I found that my data was not available when away from my Mac. I used PagePacker to print out paper versions of my lists, but most often they were not up to date when needed.
I have now been using iGTD for a couple of weeks and have all but shifted away from Journler, for one reason – iGTD has excellent iSync support for syncing the action items as iCal todo notes, and from there, the notes synchronise to an S60 handset just beautifully. Better yet, modifications (such as descriptions) to the todo notes on the phone synchronise back to iCal and from there, to iGTD.
Although not a kitchen sink, iGTD is very flexible and does not necessarily impose the GTD paradigm on you. It can be used as a simple structured notetaking application, with the added bonus of allowing you to take your notes with you as S60 todo notes.
Highly recommended. And did I mention iGTD is free (as in beer?)
