If you belong to the relative minority of RSS junkies that sometimes have to leave the house, for fun or profit, you may have found your habit seriously distracted by the fact that although you may have your feeds all sorted out in the RSS reader of your choice, things get messier when you have to access your RSS lifeline either on the go or on another machine, say, at work.

Having used Thunderbird, NetNewsWire and Vienna for my feed needs along the years, I found myself at the aforementioned crossroads when other domestic efforts simply did not allow me to keep up with the world only at my primary machine. After painful introspection, I migrated my feeds to Google Reader. The first advantage was that my feeds are accessible both at home and at the office (and yes, I think it's OK to check the feeds at work too, as at least half of them actually deal with my livelihood). Just out of curiosity, I headed over to http://reader.google.com with my handset, and behold – I was served with a perfectly usable mobile rendition of my feeds:

Although a web app can never match the usability and speed of a local native application, Google Reader comes awfully close, with the vi-like keyboard navigation and all. I have now been using the G Reader for approximately 3 months, at home on Macs (on Safari), at work on Windows (on Firefox) and on my old N95 and current N82, and I have never been happier – with my RSS access at least.
