Nova Media releases Fone Link, a mobile phone suite for OS X

Nova Media has released a new Mac application for those of us missing the PC Suite from Windows world. The application is titled Fone Link, and a free demo version is available for download. The cost of the full application is 25.17€ for a single license.

Fone Link is advertised as allowing you to "[b]rowse through the files of your mobile phone. Transfer and convert music, fotos and videos. Copy contacts, events and tasks, edit notes and bookmarks. Backup the data and restore single files or a comprehensive backup!"

I will take the application for a test run shortly.

Fone Link software fee

Mac users already have iSync and we can do pretty much with Bluetooth. To pay 25 euries just for a firmware update unless there is anything else special from this program is quite a rope on my neck. I'd be ok with ONE Euro... but not 25! I'll check again after price reduction, meanwhile I'm going to my neighbors for a firmware update for my N95.

Great software and great little company!

It works like a charm and gives me the functionality of Nokia's PC Suite on my MacBook. I'm using it with my E61i and couldn't be more pleased.

seems kind of wasteful to me - I have a bluetooth browser built into my mac. I have iSync to directly sync with my address book and calendar. I can drag aac or mp3 directly from itunes to the phone memory (usb or bluetooth - and everything comes across including album art). I can set iphoto to launch every time I connect via usb (it thinks the phone is a camera and loads the pics automatically!)

What I can't do (with either method) is load the new firmware! That's when I'll buy an app for Mac - when it can load my firmware. All the rest is already there.
