The FoneLink application for cell phone management for Macs has been updated to version 2.0, and the friendly folks at nova media are offering 5 licenses for Mac.sis readers – the only requirement is that once you try the software out, please provide feedback / review as a reply to this article.
Nokia Beta Labs has made available a Mac version of their Internet Tablet Video Converter. As the name suggests, the application is clearly oriented towards Internet Tablets with 400x240 as the target resolution:
HandBrake, my favourite application for providing place-shifting for DVDs, has been updated to 0.9.1. Release 0.9.1 mostly fixes bugs, as stated on the website:
Simo kindly tipped me off to his blog article on making the transfer of TV shows from his EyeTV + Mac combination to his Nokia E61. The toolchain involves EyeTV, iTunes, MyTunesRSS and the S60 podcasting application. Particularly the RSS-driven transfer over a WLAN is really clever.
If you are interested in reading more along the lines of my brief write-up on the matter, The Nokia Blog talks more about using the N95 and iMovie together. Myself, I have not had the opportunity of trying out iLife '08 yet, as any spare change at the moment is being drained on putting the last finishing touches to our new house.
While not directly related to Macs, you may be interested in the new version of the Share Online client for the N-series handsets as described in S60 Multimedia Blog. Share Online 2.0 replaces the existing bridge between your S60 Gallery and different online services (Flickr, Vox or custom ones using the Atom Publishing Protocol).
As noted in AllAboutSymbian.com, the Nokia Multimedia Transfer for Mac (previously Nokia Media Transfer for Mac) has been updated to version 1.1 beta. Changes mentioned by Nokia include:
Day before yesterday, I returned from a two-week sailing trip that took us from the Turku archipelago to Hanko and then Tallinn, Estonia and back via Porkkala and other locations in the southern coast of Finland.
During the trip, I had a dedicated consumer-level DV video camera for shooting parts of the fun, but there were instances where the camera just was not handy, and I used the N95 video instead.
As noted at E-series.org, Nokia has silently added support for some more of the E-Series products for Nokia Media Transfer for Mac. I am sitting at a pesky PC right now, unable to try this out myself, but apparently you should be able to have NMT check for updates to install the updated version.
E-series owners, let me know how this goes.
Reading the N95 Blog, I noticed that there is an interesting application available for using a camera phone as a webcam with a Mac:

The solution is called Movino, and best of all, it is open source.
